Pagebreaker runs in your browser. It sends nothing about the pages you play on, sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. The only thing it reports is an anonymous count of two events.

What the game does with a page

To play, the game reads the page you started it on: where the words, images and boxes are, how big they are, and what they look like, so the wreckage looks like the thing that broke. All of that stays in your browser. No page text, image, address or site name is sent to us or to anyone else.

The effect is visual. The game hides pieces of the page and draws the wreckage on a layer above it. It does not change the real website, and nobody else sees it. Press Esc or reload and the page is as it was.

A picture of a tab

On the Wreck any site page, your browser asks which tab to share and hands this page a picture of the tab you pick: one screen of it, or, when you ask for the whole page, what passes by while you scroll that tab, until you are back here or three minutes are over. The game cuts that picture into pieces inside the page. The picture is not uploaded and not stored, and it is gone when you leave the page. If you paste an address there, your own browser opens it in another tab: we do not request that address and we do not record it.

What we count

So that we know whether anyone is playing, a small message is sent when a game starts and when a clip is saved. The message holds the name of the event, game_start or clip_saved, and nothing else.

It carries no user or device identifier, no cookie, and nothing about the page: no site name and no address. On our side each message adds one to that day’s total for that event. One number per event per day is all we store, so we cannot tell who played, how many people there were, or where.

Network addresses

Like every request on the internet, these messages arrive with a network address. Our host, Cloudflare, uses it to deliver the site. To stop anyone from flooding the counter, requests to it are rate limited: the address is scrambled into a value that changes every day, and that value is used to count requests for up to one minute, in memory. The address is never written to our database, and we keep no request logs.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies.

Third parties

There are no analytics scripts, no advertising or social trackers, and no fonts or files loaded from other sites. Everything on these pages is served from this site.

The extension

The extension works only on a tab where you start it, by clicking its toolbar button or pressing its shortcut. It does not run on the pages you visit otherwise, and it does not read your browsing history. If you record a clip, the video is made and saved on your device. It is not uploaded to us.
